Pergola & Decking Project in Dernancourt, South Australia

This Dernancourt family have a challenging sloping corner block. Together, we designed a pergola and decking space that transforms their tricky area into an inviting, usable, and practical space that is accessible from all points of their yard.

The Problem

With an awkward sloping corner block, this family was struggling to maximise the usable space of their yard.

They wanted an area they could use all year round, with access to the road and their backyard space.

Our Approach

To make the most of the space, we custom designed a Colorbond steel pergola and timber deck, complete with 3 access points and stairs that lead to the main road.

The Solution

This transformation completely changed how this family uses their yard.

Steel Pergola
We used premium Colorbond steel in Woodland Grey for the pergola structure, replacing their outdated timber verandah and added extra protection from the elements. Double sided Cdek roofing with a white underside was used to complete the space and give a premium feel.

Timber Decking
We created a level deck that extended the usable living space of the yard. Hardy Merbau timber was used for a durable and stylish finish.

Timber Balustrade & Gates
With the new structure being raised, a timber balustrade and gates were added for safety and security. Steps were included for easy access to the road.

The result is an amazing space that makes this yard usable again! It’s a new, neat and modern space that complements the residence and will be home to many gatherings in the future.
