Imagine taking a piece of paper and trying to get it to stand up between two books that are lying flat, holding the base in place. The paper will fall over and look limp. Now imagine taking that same piece of paper and folding it into a V-shape. The paper will stand up on its own. V-shape fibres work in a very similar way. It stands up straight, springs back to life and continues to look great – even in those high traffic areas of your home.
Our entire range of artificial turf is designed with in built protection. UV-blocking agents are blended directly into the fibres during manufacturing. As the additives are part of the fibre itself, not a surface treatment, they provide long-lasting resistance to sun damage – think of it like sunscreen built into the grass providing an invisible layer of protection.
Our Cool Summer Lawn uses advanced heat-reflective technology integrated into every fibre, not just applied as a surface coating. This means the cooling effect is built in and permanent. No need for water to cool it down, unlike natural grass, which requires constant watering to prevent heat stress. Reduced heat build-up makes it ideal for children and pets to comfortably play outside without burning their feet or paws.
DTEX (Decitex) is the measure of yarn density and fibre strength. It tells you how thick and durable each strand of turf is. The higher the DTEX, the better your lawn’s performance and longevity.
A higher DTEX means thicker, stronger fibres, so your lawn won’t go flat, even with kids, pets, or backyard parties.
Before we can install artificial turf, we need to excavate approximately 80 millimetres below the surface, removing all existing grass, roots, and debris to eliminate any regrowth or uneven settling of the artificial turf that we place.
Our professional lawn installers in Brisbane use excavation equipment (or manual tools where required) to excavate and prepare the site. We dig further than competitors to properly excavate the site and ensure the base is prepared, preventing any future movement, drainage issues, or surface bumps.
A 60-millimetre crusher base is laid, smoothed, levelled, then wet and compacted with a vibrating plate compactor. Once the base has been prepared, the levels are checked and compacted multiple times to ensure a perfectly even surface. This is a critical step, as it ensures that the base is perfectly level and guarantees stability, as well as stops any shifting, sinking, or rippling in the future.
Once we have prepared the surface, rolls are positioned so blades all face the same direction for a seamless, natural look. Once the rolls are in position, joins are then bonded using 30-millimeter-wide fiberglass joining tape, glue, and adhesive to create a near-invisible seam. Once this has been done, we then roll it flat to lock the seams tight, which ensures proper alignment, prevents shade variation, and patchy colour.
The edges of the synthetic lawn are trimmed with a sharp utility blade to ensure a snug, custom fit around any garden beds, pavers, or curves in your backyard. The artificial turf is secured along the edges with 150-millimetre galvanised nails, which provide extra reinforcement in those high-traffic areas or in commercial settings. By doing this, we eliminate any potential shifting and lifting, as well as trip hazards.
Once your synthetic turf is in place, we then add approximately 6 kilograms of kiln-dried silica sand per square metre, which is brushed evenly across the surface, helping blades stay upright and improving drainage on the turf. This is a critical step, and it ensures that the lawn is lush, stays upright, and provides a realistic look.
A final inspection is conducted before we hand over the lawn, and you can enjoy your new low-maintenance lawn that looks great all year round. Before leaving, our installers provide a satisfaction sheet to ensure you’re happy, which activates your 10-year product warranty.
